Kitchen design, and kitchens in general, are always evolving as new technology and materials saturate the market. One driving effort to this are our demands as consumers, our desire to create kitchens that do more than we ever dreamed that they could do, or hide for that matter. One trend which has been developing for some time now are free-standing kitchens, geared towards spaces with a very open plan. These kitchens are treated more like furniture, or seperates, that provide a less “kitchen-looking” kitchen, and rather a hip, modern, beautiful, and functional space. The goal: to fit as many functions, equipment, and storage into the least amount of space while mantaining a sleek, inconspicuous, and sexy look. And in result… you find this newly designed collection which was indeed a collaborative effort by Alessi, Valcucine and Oras. Who ever said that three heads weren’t better than one? By these three designers bringing to the table their own technology, design capabilities, and resources, a very dynamic kitchen collection had the ability to see the light of day!
