A feature table lamp is a great way to combine design with function. There are so many places that they can be used…..as bedside lighting, on an empty side table, on a dining room credenza…..the possibilities are endless. Since there are so many great choices out there, I thought I would share some of my favorites:

The Coen floor and table lamps, designed by german designers Boettcher + Henssler, are created only utilizing one sheet of metal which creates a very, and obviously, seamless form. The profiles from every angle provide a very dramatic and effective look, and the simplicity of the design offers the capability to use this lamp in almost any space of any style. These lamps are available in white and silver finish and use a halogen bulb.

The Stand 1/4 lights by Korean designer Ji Young Shon couldn’t fill the akward corner of your space any better! This in-genius lamp incorporates a simple, beautiful, innovative, humorous, and practical design.

Ji Young Shon said it best:
“Why is lamp shade cylinder? Why do we put stand light at the corner? Eliminate space eater but keep lighting more than before. I add wit on this design by just chopping into 4 pieces of lamps from conventional stand lamp design. And now we save material, package, logistics and space as well“

When it comes to getting a look for less, it’s always important to ensure that you are not comprimising the true function of the piece just for the aesthetic. In this case, there’s no comprimise necessary. To add a sculptural look to any space, while providing some soft ambiant lighting, my picks are these stunning table or floor illuminated globes.
