Have you ever felt like you needed just a LITTLE more privacy when you were working, or for it to be just a LITTLE more quiet!? Well i’m sure that this desk prototype will get the job done! Rewrite designed by Gam Fratesi from Copenhagen, allows totaly privacy and concentration. Best explained by the designer himself, Fratesi provides the following reasoning…

“The idea behind Rewrite began as a study of the desktop and especially an atmosphere and feeling we believe is needed even in the middle of an accelerating communication and technology. Rewrite is thought of as a kind of isolating workingbubble, that can work as a satellitedesk anywhere one can feel the need of concentration and shielding – in open space offices, public spaces or at home. With its rounded shape it can be placed freely as dots in a room.”

The All-in-One ‘K’ Workstation

The ‘K Workstation,’ designed by New York based company MisoSoup Design, is a modern and innovative piece of furniture which incorporates clever use of space, function, and aesthetic. Very modern in its design, it’s definitely not for every space but has a lot to offer in a “not-so-large” package!

It’s rare that I actually come across a piece of furniture that could possibly have everything in it! Dear Diary 1.0, designed by Marlies Romberg, is a laser cut wooden desk with a built-in computer comprising of a monitor, full keyboard, and matching mouse. It’s truly amazing to see how far we have come in the world of technology, and this desk is no exception. Though the interesting effect I love about this desk is the contrast created between the very traditional aesthetic and the very modern function.

Space is always at a premium! There’s never that much to go around, esspecially if you have decided to live downtown of some large metropolitan city. So, we at Kalu are always on the look-out for innovative furniture, storage solutions, and systems. Therefore, you’ll see why I fell in love with this desk as soon as I came accross it in all its glory… It’s small yet functional, innovative, and actually kind of sexy!

Designed by Jonas & Joans, this desk named “Wall Flower” features some quite interesting benifits; all packed into this small package! It is constructed of “HPL” also known as High Pressure Laminate which is scratch and shock resistant. Also another amazing feature is that this desk requires no screws or installation methods into the wall, it is completely stable due to four special elastic-buffers on the backside of the racks and by legs made of stainless steel.
