A Tranquil You…

The most calming, tranquil, and relaxing aspects of our lives can sometimes be the most simple things; watching a sunset, dipping your feet into a calm lake, walking barefoot in sand, trekking through a forest, smelling the breeze as it swifts through freshly cut grass… in such, things in nature.  Looking to nature as our starting point, the platform we base our lives upon and the inspiration we draw from everyday, it only makes sense to translate the emotions evoked form nature into your own home in order to create a get-away, escape, and place to release the stresses of everyday life!  In order to achieve this, the easy points to follow are:

-Simple: Keeping things uncluttered!

-Fresh: Light tones, a broad sweep of neutral colours w/ injections of vivid greens or blues

-Texture: Draw literally or figuratively from nature- stones, woods, glass, etc…

-Soft: Play with organic forms and avoid contrived or over-thought compositions (Layer naturally!)

By following some simple guidlines, you too can have ‘Mother Nature’ at the tips of your toes!  Here are some inspiring spaces that took a tip or two from Mother Nature herself…and you may wish you could escape to, that oasis to forget the hustle & bustle of life!
