SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE

As you may or may not already know, the Milano Design Fair recently took place, with plenty…may I repeat… PLENTY of design “Eye Candy!”  Something exciting from the Fair has caught the attention of many, including myself, was the “Foglie” (leaves) lighting collection designed by Matali Crasset for Pallucco.  The series of lighting fixtures include ceiling pendants, wall sconces, and floor lamps.  The truly organic forms and shapes that layer upon one another, while creating dynamic shadows and visions of light, make these fixtures wonderfully spectacular focals to any space!  I can appreciate the modularity and complexity which went into making this design, but what makes it beautiful is how it looks effortless!

“…The inspiration for the Foglie design is a fractal: a geometrical shape which is repeated throughout its structure in different sizes. It reflects the principle of nature which determines growth: from simplicity to complexity.”
