There are few design firms that I come across who display a design aesthetic appearing effortless, seamless, modern, and still warm and inviting.  I chose this particular project due to the fantastic use of materials in order to exhibit strong variations and contrast in texture, as well as using their texture to create patterns while keeping a clean and modern aesthetic.  This private residence is called “Hogs Hollow” and was designed and then realized by 3rd Uncle Design inc.

I truly appreciate the simple and elegant touches that make this home so successful, and more specifically looking at the playfulness of wood surfaces on horizontal and vertical surfaces, continuous stretch of stone detailing, 90 deg. corners and edges that eliminate fuss & frazzle (such as decorative mouldings), and the whimsical additions of classic accessories, unusual motifs, and fixtures.
