Ready…Start your sipping!!!  The Clucth Chair, designed by Scott Jarvie in 2008, was made from 10,000 drinking straws.  It is a conceptual design piece which is mean to comment on our disposable culture & society. “The development process of this piece also informed that of the Clutch Light, both of which were developed from an observation of the structural characteristics of trees.”
Another interesting fact about this project is that it actually gained large recognition as it was selected by Zaha Hadid as her Curators Choice at Noise Festeval 2008.

“The reflective inner surface of the straw transmits the light in a directional manner creating a jewelesque effect.”
