The ’Met Home’ for July & August in Metropolitan Home caught my eye, and more specifically one little detail that the designer utilized in the kitchen.  Designed by Resolution: 4 Architecture along with interior designer Amy Lau, this “mid-century feel”  home utilizes an abundance of natural materials such as cedar and stones, classic furniture, and many built-in features.

SO what was that one little deatil I was speaking of?  Well it’s the incorporation of floating wood shelves (which are actually suspended by wire) in front of a large expanse of glass above the sink.  This detail is so fantastic because it essentially still offers a view outside, but at the sime time provides extra shelving space and a little bit of privacy- oh and it just looks damn great!
